Post-Sandy

Sandy has come and gone, and though she hardly left even a scratch here, there was significant devastation all along the east coast. Major effects from an incredible storm. We were fortunate to escape with only a branch or two down in our yard, electricity flashing on and off a few times but never staying off, and lots and lots of rain that did not flood our basement. Wow! So much to be thankful for!

This update is a bit delayed because apparently all the hype of Sandy was too much for my sweet Elyse, and she succumbed to a pretty nasty bug just as Sandy was leaving us. That lasted four days too long, and then we welcomed Grandma & Grandpa for a week. We just said our teary goodbyes to them this morning, and are now settling back into routine.

(In case you wondered, "Gamma" and "Gampa" were much more welcome here than Sandy was!)

A few weeks of "normal", and then Auntie Lori comes to visit. We can hardly wait!! She is also more welcome than Sandy. In fact, we are always eager to host visitors who do not plan to leave destruction in their wake, so if you can adhere to those guidelines, why not think about planning a trip out our direction?
